Audin is a bash script that iterates through a directory, or a list of directories, in order to create an index of nicely formatted symbolic links to every MP3 and FLAC album found. Audin extracts information about the artist, title, year and genre of an album by retrieving and comparing the ID3 tags or Vorbis comments of all songs therein. The index consumes minimal hard disk memory, while offering an organized interface to your music collection.
